Namibia pictures: My photo highlights

Namibia - dream trip for every nature photographer

Namibia - a desert land of contrasts

From the capital Windhoek you can quickly get out into Namibia's nature. We make a first stop on Oanob lake one where we also get to see the first antelope species.

Large parts of the desert country of Namibia are covered by the Namib desert taken. The Namib-Naukluft National Park and the NamibRand Reserve with the bright blue and orange skies make fantastic landscape photos possible Sand dunesNamibia is known for the ocher colored dunes of Sossusvlei. The view from the 320 meter high Big daddy Dune is simply breathtaking. To the Sossusvlei also belong to the Sesriem Canyon and the Deadvlei with its dead camel thorn trees. This dried out clay pan offers the ideal photo backdrop for classic Namibia photos.

Further south follows with the Kalahari desert the second large dry area in the country. It extends over a huge area into neighboring South Africa and Botswana. After the breathtaking Sossusvlei we reach the magnificent view at Namib's Valley of a Thousand Hills, another real insider tip. The then offers an interesting change from Namibia's desert landscapes German-influenced Coastal town Swakopmund.

Adventure in the remote north of Namibia

The follows north of Swakopmund Fur seal colony at Cape Cross, before heading into the practically uninhabited wilderness of the Damaraland with Namibia's highest point, the Brandberg and to the Twyelfontein rock paintings goes. Behind it extends the hostile one Skeleton Coast with its stranded shipwrecks. The last rare ones live in this area Desert elephants and Desert lions. Great motifs for Namibia pictures.

The white elephants of Etosha

Inland follows the most famous national park in Namibia and the epitome of the wilderness of Africa: the mighty one Etosha National Park. A safari in the animal-rich Etosha is sOf course, one of the highlights of every trip through Namibia. The national park has a good infrastructure with the three affordable state camps Okaukuejo, Halali, and NamutoniYes, eA sunset over the waterhole of the Okaukuejo You definitely never forget camps!

The white elephants in the midst of an abundance of other African mammals on the edge of the seemingly endless flat Etosha pan are a typical image of Namibia. We could one Pride of lions eating an elephant carcass watch, an unforgettable natural moment.

Another stop is worth it, protected as a national park, Waterberg Plateau with some rare animal species and a spectacular landscape.

This can be found even further north from HimbaNomad people populated, remote KaokoveldOther dream destinations for a second trip to Namibia are the green Caprivi stripes (New Zambezi region) or the huge one Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon.
