Numerous ancient temples of ancient Egypt extend around Luxor. The «City of Palaces» was part of the ancient Egyptian royal metropolis Thebes and still offers a variety of sights for tourists from all over the world. in the Temple of Luxor are next to a small white mosque several colossal statues of Pharaoh Ramses II. to admire. All of these enormous statues, as well as the details of the Hieroglyphics are motifs for great Egypt pictures.

On the western bank of the Nile is the equally worth seeing Karnak temple. The world famous one can be found at the transition between the Nile valley and the desert Valley of the Kings, where the most valuable find of ancient Egypt was made: the completely preserved burial chamber of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
