Delhi – India's capital city between Mughal history, chaos and contrasts

The Indian capital New Delhi New Delhi was planned symmetrically as a garden city by British architects. Wide boulevards, parks, colonial buildings, and shady avenues characterize the cityscape. A fascinating contrast to this is... Old Delhi with its narrow streets, bazaars, temples and mosques.

Old Delhi is the part of the city where the Mughals and other rulers left behind several significant architectural masterpieces. It is home to some of the city's most famous landmarks, including India's largest mosque, the... Jama Masjid (Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa), very close to the famous market Chandni Chowk. The monumental [building/structure] is also impressive. Red Fort, also known as Delhi Fort or Lal Qila, which today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered an architectural highlight of the Mughal era under Emperor Shah Jahan.

Rajasthan – Palaces, desert cities and the Golden Triangle

Not far from the capital Jaipur, the capital of the state Rajasthan. Among the city's most famous buildings are the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), the Water Palace Jal Mahal, the historic observatory Jantar Mantar as well as the elegant City Palace. The lake city further south Udaipur with the famous Lake Palace such as Jodhpur, the blue city at the foot of the mighty fortress Mehrangarh, These are among the great highlights of Rajasthan. The village lies between the two cities. Bera, whose rural surroundings around Lake Jawai, alongside the traditional life of the Rabari also for Leopards is known.

The desert state of Rajasthan offers an impressive variety of motifs and sights – from the intricate Jain temples of Ranakpur up to the historic palace complex of Bundi. As a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the cities, a Tiger Safari in Ranthambore National Park on, one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in northern India.

Another obligatory stop along the Golden triangle is Agra with perhaps the most famous building in India: the Taj Mahal. This world-famous mausoleum was commissioned by the Mughal emperor. Madhya Pradesh – Tigers, leopards and temple ruins

After a short domestic flight, we reach the impressive temple ruins of Khajuraho, Remains of the little-known Chandella dynasty from the period between 950 and 1120. In the immediate vicinity lies the Panna National Parkwhere we two tiger and an Indian Leopards could see.

Further stops on our journey through the central Indian state Madhya Pradesh were those Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and the great Kanha National Park. There we had further unforgettable wildlife sightings, including Bengal tiger, wild gaur cattle, sambar deer, Hanuman langur, axis deer and Indian Red Dogs. Mumbai – Megacity on the Arabian Sea

To conclude our trip, we're heading to the port city. Mumbai, formerly Bombay. With approximately 28.4 million inhabitants Mumbai is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. Its historic center contains some of the most important sights, including... Gateway of India, the legendary Taj Mahal Palace Hotel as well as the bustling colonial train station Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus.
