Central Switzerland pictures: My photo highlights

Central Switzerland or Central Switzerland lies in the heart of Switzerland. It includes the cantons Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and train and surrounds the Lake Lucerne. The region is equally popular with Asian tourists and Swiss with numerous legendary viewpoints such as the Pilate, Titlis, the Rigi, the Big myths, Fronalpstock, Niederbuild Kulm and others.

The landmark of the city Lucerne is the wooden one Chapel Bridge across the Reuss in its picturesque old town. With a historical paddle steamer you can take a wonderful boat trip on Lake Lucerne, whose ports are ideal starting points for further excursion destinations. Places like the Rütli, the Hohle Gasse or the Tell Chapel have stood for since Schiller's drama “Willhelm Tell” Swiss history.

At the southern end of the lake follows the fjord-like one Lake Uri followed by Altdorf in the Reuss valley. You get deeper and deeper into the heart of the Swiss Alps and finally into Gotthard massif.
