Above the Lauterbrunnen valley lie the traditional mountain villages Wengen and Mürren. Away from the major tourist centers, those seeking peace and quiet will find it in Kiental, Diemtigtal, Simmental or around the well-known resort Gstaad especially pristine natural landscapes.
