- Visit to two ruins in the heart of Lima
- Walk on the sunny Malecon
- Night bus ride to Trujillo
When we checked out, we marched to Plaza Kennedy, where there were numerous participants this Sunday morning athletic program a sponsor, do aerobics or sprint ergometers.
We march on to the ruins of Huaca Pucllana in the middle of the city and are surprised by its extent. There we join the English-speaking tour through the area. We learn a lot about the way of life of the People of the Limawho lived here almost 2000 years ago. With the help of their domesticated llamas, alpacas, guinea pigs and ducks, fishing and the cultivation of various agricultural products such as corn and quinoa in their irrigated fields, the Lima were able to build an existence in this hostile area.
The center of the system is the 20 m high pyramid the construction of which might have taken 100 years.
Later the area was used as a cemetery by the Huari people and also used by the following cultures such as Ychsma and Inca. There are certainly more exciting locations, but what is underneath the modern city is still impressive.

We march to the nearest plaza, where all kinds of fast food stalls advertise for the customers' favor. Niki would like to TGI Friday. Then we continue through the noble district of San Isidro. Finally we have reached the next pyramid in the middle of the city: Huaca Huallamarca. We walk around the park and decide not to pay admission again to get access to the site.
We take a taxi to the LarcoMar shopping mall. There's a Starbucks for Niki while she Skyps with her parents. With a sundae we stroll something that Malecon along and enjoy the meanwhile great weather with a view of the waves of the Pacific.
Now it's back to the bank for more USD withdrawals. After a short break in the hostel, we meet again with Yotam and Maayan. The two will travel to Huaraz overnight while we stay on the coast. Maybe we will meet again in Guayaquil.
We take a taxi to the MovilTours bus terminal, where our Bus ride to Trujillo begins.
