In the morning the blog is updated and an answer from Martin and Jemma is awaited. The two will go directly to La Paz, so we buy a ticket with BOA for tomorrow to Santa Cruz. The bus trip to the largest city in Bolivia would take up to 20 hours due to the bad road conditions, during the 35-minute flight costs just CHF 30. Since we cannot print the tickets in the hostel, we look for a possibility in the alleys. Somehow we just burst into an architect's office and the helpful men fulfill our request. Now we are also looking for a hostel in the big city of Santa Cruz and are contacting some tour operators again. Then we skyped home briefly to congratulate Grosspäpu on his birthday!
When we finally come out of the hostel in the late afternoon, we march into the center. in the Mercado Central let's treat ourselves to a fresh fruit juice and a cherimoya. The atmosphere here is really great, you feel much more in a well-tended country market than in the city. There are numerous shops in the busy area, where you can buy just about anything your heart desires. We browse various fashion and electronics stores just to see what's on offer.
Then it's back to the hostel and see if any news have come in in the meantime. A little later we agreed with Martin and Jemma about the documentary Devils Miner about the children in the mines of Potosis. The impressive documentation shows the conditions under which the miners toil in Cerro Rico. It is particularly tragic that there are around 800 children among them.
