More information about my Pan America trip

409 days (or almost 14 months and thus over a year) my breathtaking Panamerica trip back and forth across the American continent lasted. I have this unique travel adventure in this online diary as Panamericana travel report documented. We are not always strictly following the classic route of the Panamericana or followed the Pan-American Highway, but made detours to our personal highlights.

Part 1 - North America

Read from Bears in the far north Alaska and the Canadian Yukon Territory, the Canadian Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia. About my experiences in nature in Yellowstone National Park, the Red Rock National Parks of Utah, the big cities San Francisco and Los Angelos.

Always along the coast it was now back to Vancouver. With that our journey went through usa and Canada over.

Part 2 - South America

The second part goes down to South America, where further highlights have been waiting for us. Be it the pulsating Rio de Janeiro, looking for a jaguar in Brazilian Pantanal.

Further south you go through the sheer endless expanse of the Argentine pampas towards the breathtaking mountain backdrop of the Patagonian Andes. I especially like the Torres del Paine National Park in the deep south of Chile, as well as the Argentine trekking mecca El Chalten especially liked. Through the dust-dry Atacama Desert we went up to the colorful Altiplano plateau of Bolivia. Where we have the world's largest salt lake - the Salar de Uyuni - have admired.

With none South America trip may the Lake Titicaca and of course the Inca city Machu Picchu absence. In order to make the program varied, we have a detour to the adventurous, almost untouched at various locations Amazon lowlands undertaken.

We head north along the dry Peruvian coast with a detour to the nature paradise of the Galapagos Islands. Of Colombia we went by motorboat over the paradisiacal stalls of San Blas Islands after Panama. The Panamerica travelogue ends here.

Always looking for nature, culture and adventure. Read my diary and be inspired for your own journey along the unique Panamericana.
