We are picked up by a guy and march into the center. The whole thing is a bit chaotic, but in the end we are sitting in the <b>Tourist bus<\/b>. After a good half an hour we leave the paved main road and are now shaken up a lot. The sun dries up the pools and the blocks of salt can be harvested. It still happens today. The facility belongs to a company, which is why the expensive tourist pass is once again not valid and an additional 10 Sol entry is due. It would go to the town of Chinchero and then back to Cusco.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>But we have ours at 1.30 p.m. <b>Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes<\/b>, the starting point for Machu Picchu! The five of us are squeezed into a car and taken to the Ollantaytambo train station in about 40 minutes.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Once there, there is still enough time to eat a delicious chicken soup. After a bit of waiting, the time has come <b>Panorama train from Peru Rail<\/b> drives in and we take our comfortable seats.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>The ride leads the rough <b>Rio Urubamba<\/b> - a whitewater paradise - along through spectacular, but cloud-shrouded valleys. You can literally watch how the landscape becomes greener with decreasing height.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>When we arrive in the chaotic and totally touristy Aquas Calientes, we go to our hotel room.
