Then go straight to the bus station to buy a ticket for the Saturday journey to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. As always, we are welcomed extremely friendly, interested in where we come from and why we are visiting Argentina. Certain scenes and the faces remind us strongly of the Bolivian highlands. We stock up on local fruits and vegetables before we head back to the city center. In the hostel we are looking for a hostel for the next few days in the expensive San Pedro de Atacama. Then we calculate our remaining requirement for Argentine pesos and look for an option to change. The showpiece and core of the exhibition on the lost Inca culture are undoubtedly the <b>three grandiose preserved children&#039;s mummies<\/b>, which took place in 1999 in the icy heights of the <b>Vulcano Llullaillaco<\/b> were found. Due to the icy temperatures, the bodies were naturally mummified and have survived in exceptionally good condition for over 500 years. Yes it <b>possibly the best preserved mummies in the world<\/b>. For reasons of conservation, only one corpse is exhibited, which is understandably not allowed to be photographed. Currently this is \u00ab<b>The Lightning Girl<\/b>\u00bbCan be admired while\u00ab The Boy \u00bband\u00ab The Maiden \u00bbare in safe custody. This corpse was discovered in the high Andes of the region as early as 1920, but fell into the wrong hands and therefore did not enjoy the necessary conservation measures.
