A national flag of enormous proportions flies at this historic place. On September 11, 1973, the armed forces of Chile under the command of Pinochet - and with the support of the United States - overthrew the democratically elected government of Chile. The Socialist President <b>Salvador Allende<\/b> took his own life after the bombing of the presidential palace. During his dictatorship, he stood out for an enormous number <b>Human rights violations,<\/b> responsible for several thousands of murdered people and tens of thousands of cases of torture. Everything tastes great, but the cocktail made us all a little tired.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Take the subway to\u00a0<b>Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos<\/b>In the modern building the dictatorship of Pinochet with all its crimes is thematized and well worth seeing.
