We complete the last few kilometers of this trip with the drive to Whitehorse Airport. The total distance traveled is 37 111 km without the section with Mannu and Chrigu in Alaska. The Dodge caravan with roof tent (www.canaaussie.ch, Roof tent from Autohome model Columbus) has proven to be the ideal means of transportation for my purposes. With the exception of the two flat tires on the Dempster Highway, these are 179 days glitch-free run away. Thanks to my warm sleeping bag, even nights near freezing were easy to bear, even if we often chose the more comfortable variant of the motel towards the end of the trip.

We park the car at the airport and give the key to the airline. Alexandra will pick up the car there in the next few days. At the small provincial airport, progress is uncomplicated and soon after we are sitting in the small machine from Pacific Coastal. The entertaining and interesting flight over the coastal mountains takes just under an hour Vancouver. Shortly after takeoff, the cloud cover clears up a bit and offers a spectacular view of the Canadian mountains. The approach to Vancouver via Downtown is another highlight.

In the coastal metropolis, the weather is a lot friendlier. We're going with the unearthly Skytrain to downtown Vancouver and get on a taxi that will bring us to the Empire Landmark Hotel. Only when we arrive do we realize that we have already been to this building. It is the same skyscraper that houses the Cloud9 restaurant. From our room we also enjoy a great view towards the sea.

My stomach growls and we want to go out to eat when I see an unexpected restaurant Capstone Tea & Fondue. In fact, to Niki's delight, the place also offers a variety of chocolate fondues Cheese fondue at. The order turns out to be more of a lifestyle fondue than a real meal, but it was always a nice change. Then we start sorting out our clothes, everything that is not absolutely necessary has to go! This brings together a considerable amount of clothes, technology accessories and our sleeping bags.

After the work is done, we march the busy Robson Street along looking for a restaurant.
