The pretty row of Victorian houses is really impressive. Moving on to the better known <b>Alamo Square<\/b>, one of the most famous photo subjects in town. The famous ones also run there <b>Cable cars<\/b>which master even the steepest passages by pulling a cable. We spend some time in various shops and malls, where we eat in one of the inexpensive food courts. Then we march through what is worth seeing <b>Chinatown <\/b>with lots of Chinese-inspired shops.<\/p>\n<p>Just in time for sunset we take a bus over to the Bay Bridge <b>Treasure Island<\/b>. However, there is not quite as much going on there as we hoped. The city view with the dominant <b>Transamerica pyramid <\/b>and the former prison island Alcatraz is still worth seeing. However, a stiff breeze is blowing out there and we will return soon.
