Now we're tidying up the inside of the car a little, vacuuming and furnishing it to Niki's taste. Then we march from North Vancouver over to Downtown. The path leads over the busy green Lions Gate Bridge into Stanley Park. The wonderful city park on the peninsula serves many locals as an oasis of calm and for a jogging run. Tourists often explore the very extensive park by bike. Actually, that was our plan, but we don't find one to rent anywhere on our site. We march along the coast to the Indian totems. Even today the weather is quite cloudy until late in the afternoon, but then it becomes increasingly friendly.

At Safeway we buy a lunch snack before taking the bus to Granville Island. All kinds of original souvenir shops, galleries and restaurants can be found here. We interrupt our tour of discovery with an ice cream with a view of the glass facades of Downdown. After a beer at the Grandville Island Brewery, we head back to Robson Street. Finally, at half past eight we have a reservation for the revolving restaurant Cloud9, like a famous song by the Canadian Bryan Adams. For an affordable $ 40, we treat ourselves to a delicious 3-course menu by candlelight. We also enjoy the wonderful sunset atmosphere over the sea with the many cargo ships. In addition, the yellow full moon appears over the now enlightening sea of lights of the big city. Around 10 p.m. we take the bus back over to North Vancouver to the Travelodge. I still use the Internet a little to plan our onward journey while Niki falls asleep pursued by jetlag.

Pick up the car at the service

Vacuuming and tidying up

March over Lions Gate Bridge into Stanley Park

Continue along the coast to the totems

Buy a snack and eat comfortably on the bench

On to Granville Island

Scour shops, beers at Granville Island Brewery

Dinner in the panorama restaurant Cloud9 at a wonderful sunset

Plan your onward journey at the hotel

The first thing we do is pick up the car after the oil change, otherwise everything was ok this time.
